Day Ten of Nutrition Challenge
Today started off as usual with breakfast. But, that was it. Sitting in a meeting for nearly four hours not only gave me a sore butt, it caused me to skip lunch. In order to maintain a little ounce of sanity much thanks to the two scoops of peanut butter.

Day Eight of Nutrition Challenge
Basically, after an entire weekend of eating raw and cooked produce...life is good. I presumed the weekend would be difficult to continue eating clean. Like most people, I like to slurge a little during the weekend. You see, my friends often times motivate me to drink a glass or two of alcohol. But, am delighted to say that was not the case. Although, I may have overindulged on sweet potato fries instead. I guess the fries aren't so bad since they're sweet potatoes, right?.
As I continue to 'eat clean' -- I find food to be overrated. You know--all that rich and fancy food. Although it is important to consume a balanced diet, rich in fruits and vegetables my desire to randomly eat out is no longer an issue. After a week, no way have i been converted to just eating raw foods. But, I am saying it has started to help me see my abdominal muscles again! Ok...the photo above is not me but it's my motivation.

Day Five of Nutrition Challenge
Can you believe the first week on this plan is almost behind us? Still, without hesitation, my journey on 'Give Me Body Nutritional Plan' hasn't slowed me down. If anything, I made it a point to plan every single meal and snack. My initial thoughts were "what-if?; and what-if-that? With all the "what-ifs" in the world, it came to me that nothing can change my outcome when there's preparation...yes, mental preparedness. In talking with others on the plan, it had become apparent, people wanted to drop off. And, return to eating processed food, slurping on refined sugar and overdosing on caffeine. You see, this guy whispered to me that his body had slowed down, and if it continued he'd be off this plan in a heart beat.
People listen-up!!! Your feelings of weakness, tiredness, sluggishness, hunger and sleepiness is not due to this nutritional plan. Lets be clear and REAL. This plan basically asked you to avoid white, processed and fried foods. You are not forced to restrict calories or eat specially boxed foods. So, if you are experiencing the traits listed above it simply means you are not eating enough, eating balanced meals or getting enough sleep. I am no different than you. On this plan, my caloric intake has been plentiful. There's a host of recipes around that corresponds with the approved foods on this plan. Give yourself a break over the next two weeks. Don't complain about the way you look and feel if you're not willing to eat better. Did I just say that?

Day Three of Nutrition Challenge
It's the end of Day three on my 'Give Me Body' Nutritional Plan. Still, it is going well for me. For others participating on the plan, things appear different. While it's obvious (according to comments) not everyone eats enough veggies daily, unfortunately, based on attitudes it seems this plan may not change their behavior. However, I believe a change may occur by the close of this challenge. Something has to change!
Think about it. In 24 hours some of us exercise 30 minutes to 2 hours in a day...leaving about 22 hours to do as we please. So when i hear words like taste, convenience and serving size as reasons not to complete the plan it surprises me. I believe, often times, it takes giving up something to get somethings you want. I am excited so many people are participating on this plan. Although some of them have tweaked the plan to fit their lifestyle. The nutrition plan as-is is strongly encouraged, BUT learning to make more conscious decisions is very important too.
For those folks who think I am prefect...well I am not! On day three -- I had a slip up. You see, I had this last container of yogurt. To prevent it from going bad, this morning I broke down and ate it. I have not had to break the rules until today. Of course, there's no plan to break it again. I expect the next two and a half weeks to move pretty quickly. Actually, my diet is not too far from this plan. Like others, there's still foods and ingredients I need to be replace in my diet.

I am having fun making more controlled food choices.
My work days are long. And these pretty much prevents me from cooking during middle of the week. It is important for me to carefully plan each day. A key to being successful on this plan or any other program is to plan ahead. This way, you will not be subjected to poor behavior.

Day One of 21-Day Nutrition Challenge
Wow! I am excited about my new Give Me Body Nutritional Plan.
Today is the first day on the plan with 20 more to go. First off, I asked a group of folks (clients, friends even strangers) to join me on my crusade to eat better, lose weight, burn fat, did I say build muscle too? Boy, did I hear a bucket of excuses: "can't do it when traveling, I need my caffiene, no yogurt!, gotta have red meat to where's the chocolate." Who ever said, there's no such thing as excuses -- lied. Listening to buckets of excuses makes me wanna holler. If ever I understood why so many people cloud their own view of reality is -- because of the their own self defeat. Enough said.
My day began with a simple breakfast of oatmeal with raisins, honey and soymilk. Then, I added a delicious red grapefruit and egg whites. Ohhhh, it tasted so g-o-o-o-o-d! Wait, I had a tablespoon of peanut butter too. Actually, my day wasn't bad at all. My food choices kept my belly fulfilled. Of course, there were times when I thought binging would be an option. Don't get it twisted, I really wasn't considering doing something so silly. Adding a smoothie to my day help break my need for something sweet (strawberries, orange juice, soymilk and honey). Thanks to the nation's observance of Martin Luther King, Jr, my workday ended earlier than usual. Trust me when I say it made for an awesome first day. Although, I did manage to work-in a bout of strength training and 40 minutes of cardio.
To all the people who doubt their ability to drop-kick their own poor diet, should re-evaluate what's important. The reason why I chose to share my experiences on Give Me Body Nutritional Plan is to motivate and educate others.
I will be blogging my experiences 3 days a week until the plan ends on February 8.

No backseat to fitness
You caught me bound for a little island R and R. You see, vacationing is a perfect fix for the mind & body in order for it to function properly (at least I think). With that said, still I must continue on with a regular health and fitness plan. You know, eating well here and there, then jogging or jet skiing. Although my program may be a bit condensed, due to my trip, it remains a priority to me. I believe this is true for everybody who truly understands, there's no backseat to fitness.
